GED Program

graduatesThe GED Program is designed for adults who have not previously received a high school diploma. We offer on-site, free GED testing for these students. Because Arkansas is the only state that does not currently charge for GED testing, all GED candidates must provide a current Arkansas photo ID to validate their residency. The Arkansas High School Diploma is awarded to students upon successful completion of the five-part exam (Writing, Science, Reading, Math and Social Studies).

A policy of open-entry, open-exit is permitted in the GED program. This simply means students are able to enroll at anytime or leave at anytime. Classes are offered during the daytime and evening hours throughout the year for those who need to brush up on basic skills before taking the tests. If an applicant's initial assessment indicates reading and math skills on a high school level, the Official GED Practice Test is then administered. Upon successful completion of all five Practice Tests, the counselor will schedule the student to take the Official GED exam. Graduation is held at the end of each school year, with over 300 students graduating annually. To see the schedules for testing click here.
