WAGE Program

     

  Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy®

"Linking Today's Workforce with Tomorrow's Jobs"

 WAGE is a training program designed to ensure that the unemployed and under-employed have the job skills necessary to obtain employment and remain successful in the workplace. The program provides academic skills training which is needed for most entry-level jobs in the community and region.  The WAGE program is state-certified through the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education.

 

WAGE incentives:

·        Free of Charge

·        Enroll at any time

·        Work at your own pace

·        Learn or update computer skills

·        Earn certificates in Basic Employability, Clerical, or Industrial

The program promotes an alliance among local employer advisory councils, adult education centers, employment and training agencies, industrial development foundations, and county and city governments.  The local WAGE Advisory Board meets quarterly to provide feedback on the skills needed most by local employers.
